Petersburg Sand Company is a Canadian aggregate producer driving Ontario’s growth by supplying the aggregate to build communities and fuel the economy. Our flagship asset, the Middle Street Pit in Wilmot, is a licensed, high-volume source of sand and gravel positioned to meet surging demand for housing, transportation, and major infrastructure. With direct access to key highways and close proximity to the region’s largest urban centres, we provide builders and developers with reliable, cost-efficient materials essential to keeping projects moving and economies growing.

Why Aggregate Matters
Aggregate is everywhere — in our homes, workplaces, roads, schools, and hospitals. Ontario’s population is projected to reach 18.2 million by 2041, requiring billions of tonnes of sand, gravel, and stone to build essential infrastructure.
With provincial investments accelerating in housing and transportation, close-to-market aggregate sources like those we develop are key to keeping construction efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable.
Our industry is among the most regulated in Ontario, governed by over 25 pieces of legislation to ensure safe, clean, and environmentally responsible production.
MIDDLE STREET PIT
Project Overview
The Middle Street Pit is a licensed Class A above-water aggregate operation located at 1856 Snyders Road East in Wilmot, Ontario. The site spans 36 hectares (27.5 licensed) and contains a high-quality sand and gravel deposit with additional clay and silt resources, well-suited for a wide range of construction and industrial applications.
With quick connections to Highway 8 and Highway 401, and proximity to urban areas such as Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and Guelph, the pit is strategically positioned to supply Ontario’s busiest growth sectors.
